Search Warrant
When you
have something hidden, you rather it stays that way, especially if it’s something
that the police might find illegal or suspicious. While some people would stay
calm, others would freak out when the police comes to your house with a search
warrant which was my case. Even though I knew that what I had didn’t make me
guilty, I didn’t want the police to find it because it certainly would make
me seem guilty. A year ago, there had been a murder just outside my house and
the people who did it left the murder weapon, a knife, in my doorstep. The
issue is that I didn’t know about the murder since I was out on vacation
when it happened. I found out a few months later when a neighbor told me. Of
course, I realized that I had the knife in my house because I picked it up
when I found it. Whereas someone else would have left it there, I was
dumb enough to put my finger prints on it. I thought it was weird that a knife was there,
but I didn’t give it much thought. I didn’t have an alibi, so I decided to keep
it quiet. Luckily for me, the police never found the knife and I got rid of it
afterwards.
